On May 5, 2026, a mass shooting spree occurred at a Gwangjang Korean Market parking lot where a prearranged business transaction was held, killing one and injuring three others, at the K Towne Plaza in the Koreatown neighborhood of Carrollton, Texas. The suspect killed another employee, partially identified as a man, at an apartment complex four miles away.[2] All three of the injured were treated in stable condition at a nearby hospital.[3]

The suspect, 69-year-old Seung Ho Han, fled a couple of miles south to an H Mart, also in Carrollton, where Carrollton police took Han into custody after a brief foot pursuit after attempted to make contact.[4][5] Authorities confirmed that the shooting was "targeted as a specific professional dispute, but not a hate crime".[6]
